A Ujjain district hospital civil surgeon was sacked after a video clip showing him getting intimate with a woman, possibly a staff nurse went viral on social media.
The video, which shows the civil surgeon kissing a woman, first surfaced on a WhatsApp group of the nursing staff of the Ujjain district hospital. The video was reportedly shot inside an operation theatre of the hospital.
India Today TV has accessed the video.
The 49-year-old civil surgeon has been removed from his post for “behaviour unbecoming of an officer”.
I have removed him from the post of civil surgeon of the district hospital,” Ujjain district collector Shashank Mishra told PTI. Shashank Mishra has also issued a notice seeking an explanation from the senior doctor.
About the next course of action, the collector said he was awaiting the reply of the civil surgeon who has been on leave for the last few days.
According to hospital employees, three more objectionable videos were posted on the WhatsApp group of the nursing staff. It is not clear if the videos were sent by mistake or deliberately. The district collector has ordered an enquiry.
The civil surgeon could not be contacted for his response on the video.
