The Operating Room Global (TORG) governance structure is made up of the Advisory Board, the Board of Trustees, and the Executive Board. Membership Growth: TORG has experienced steady growth in its membership base, attracting surgical professionals, healthcare providers, researchers, and industry experts from diverse backgrounds. Initially from just a few members to over 100,000 memberships globally. The community’s expansion has enabled the exchange of valuable insights and best practices across different regions and specialties.

Countries: Each country represents a Chapter in TORG. TORG-NG (Nigeria) is the founding chapter. Currently, about 89 countries and 18 chapters are represented in TORG. Research and Innovation: TORG has actively promoted evidence-based practices and research collaborations within the surgical care landscape. By encouraging research endeavours and through the establishment of TORG Research and Development Committee, TORG has contributed to innovative solutions and the adoption of evidence-driven approaches in surgical settings.

Scholarship and Grants Educational Initiative: TORG is dedicated to empowering the next generation of healthcare leaders, particularly talented orphans, and economically disadvantaged youths. TORG has just launched the largest scholarship and grants educational initiative for these deserving individuals and aims to expand this initiative within the next five years. This program is aimed at providing comprehensive support to selected students, enabling them to pursue careers in surgical care, medical research, and related healthcare fields.

Advocacy for Patient Safety: TORG has become a strong advocate for patient safety in the operating room and beyond. By actively supporting the implementation of standardized protocols and guidelines, TORG has worked to reduce surgical complications and improve overall patient care.

Partnership: TORG has Partnership with Incision Academy in the Netherlands for discounted enrolment rates and The Operating Theatre Journal UK for Free Publication of members’ Articles and Journals.

Global Surgical Conferences: TORG envisions hosting international surgical conferences, bringing together experts, professionals, and industry leaders for comprehensive discussions and knowledge-sharing. 2024 Inaugural Scientific Conference is scheduled to be hosted in Kigali, Rwanda. These conferences will serve as platforms for networking, collaboration, and showcasing the latest advancements in the field.
