 About The Operating Room Global (TORG): TORG is a professional platform committed to improving surgical care globally by providing resources, support, and training to healthcare professionals in underserved areas. We believe that every individual deserves access to safe and effective surgical services, and we work tirelessly to make this a reality. Through collaboration, education, and innovation, TORG aims to enhance surgical outcomes and promote sustainable healthcare systems worldwide.

Joining TORG as a volunteer provides a unique opportunity to contribute your skills, expertise, and passion to various Chapters. We are currently seeking volunteers for the following Regional Chapter Roles:

Chapter Chairperson: The Chapter Chairperson is the key leader of the regional chapter, responsible for providing overall direction, vision, and strategic planning. They collaborate with other chapter members and TORG leadership to align the chapter’s goals with the organization’s mission.

Vice Chairperson: The Vice Chairperson supports the Chapter Chairperson and assumes their responsibilities in their absence. They actively engage in chapter activities and contribute to decision-making processes.

Secretary/PRO: The Secretary is responsible for maintaining accurate records, documenting chapter meetings, and managing official communications within the chapter. They play a crucial role in ensuring transparency and effective information dissemination. The Public Relations Officer handles external communications and media relations for the chapter. They promote the chapter’s activities and initiatives to raise awareness and attract potential collaborators.This role can also be handled by the Secretary of the Regional Chapter.

Treasurer: The Treasurer oversees the financial aspects of the chapter, including budgeting, fundraising, and financial reporting. They ensure proper financial management and compliance with financial regulations.

Membership Coordinator: The Membership Coordinator is responsible for recruitment, engagement, and retention of chapter members. They work to create a thriving and inclusive community within the chapter.

Events Coordinator: The Events Coordinator plans and executes chapter events, conferences, and networking opportunities. They facilitate valuable interactions and collaborations among chapter members.

Social Media Manager: The Social Media Coordinator manages the chapter’s communication channels, including social media, newsletters, and announcements. They ensure effective communication among chapter members and TORG leadership.

Special Projects Coordinator: The Special Projects Coordinator leads specific initiatives, programs, or projects that align with the chapter’s objectives. They work on innovative approaches to make a meaningful impact in the local healthcare community.

Welfare Coordinator: The Welfare Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the well-being and support of members within the TORG Regional Chapter, fostering a caring and inclusive environment.

Chapter Representatives: Serve as a liaison between the chapter’s members and the leadership, gathering feedback from members, and advocating for their interests and concerns.

As a cohesive team, the Regional Chapter Leaders are expected to work collaboratively, transparently, and with a shared commitment to TORG’s mission. Leaders should actively engage in discussions, contribute their expertise, and support the implementation of initiatives that will elevate the field of surgical care and positively impact healthcare outcomes in their respective regions. By fulfilling their roles and responsibilities, the Regional Chapter Leaders collectively contribute to the continued growth and success of TORG.
