It is our pleasure to introduce Darlene B. Murdock, MSN, BBA, RN, CNOR, CSSM, who will be the esteemed speaker for this webinar on the topic at hand. Currently serving as the National Vice President of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) from 2022 to 2024, Darlene’s dedication to advancing the field of perioperative nursing is truly commendable. Her commitment has not only earned her recognition but has also led to positive changes within the healthcare community. She is also an Advisory Board member of TORG.

Darlene’s career has been marked by her role as a certified perioperative registered nurse at Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center, where she has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality care, even in the most challenging and critical situations.

One of Darlene’s remarkable qualities is her ability to drive positive change. Her leadership skills have made a significant impact in various contexts, extending to national platforms. She has delivered impactful talks on topics ranging from diversity, equity, and inclusion to the specialized care of trauma patients. Darlene’s insights and knowledge are not only invaluable within the walls of hospitals but also instrumental in shaping healthcare practices on a broader scale.

In addition to her clinical and leadership accomplishments, Darlene is a prolific author and editor. Her contributions to the AORN Journal and her editorial roles in multiple newsletters exemplify her dedication to advancing knowledge and best practices in perioperative nursing.

Darlene’s educational background further underscores her commitment to excellence. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Western Governors University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
