Strengthen your foundation in gastrointestinal endoscopy through a highly immersive, structured training programme delivered by world-renowned faculty at IRCAD Africa. Over three intensive days, participants will combine essential theoretical knowledge with extensive hands-on practice using simulators and ERCP models, within a state-of-the-art surgical training environment.

Introduction to GI endoscopy; Patient preparation, informed consent, and sedation; Electrosurgical principles for endoscopy.

𝐔𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐫 & 𝐋𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐆𝐈 𝐄𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐲:
Instrumentation, techniques, and landmark identification; Recognition of common upper GI pathologies (ulcers, bleeding, GERD, Barrett’s, varices, cancers); Colonoscopy techniques, complications, and biopsy methods; Artificial intelligence in colonoscopy.

𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐄𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐲 & 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐲:
Upper and lower GI polypectomy; EMR, ESD, and underwater mucosal resection (U-EMR)

𝐆𝐈 𝐄𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭:
Upper and lower GI bleeding; Endoscopic hemostasis techniques (APC, clips, band ligation, injection, powders); Foreign body retrieval and caustic ingestion.

𝐄𝐑𝐂𝐏 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐬:
Biliopancreatic anatomy and cannulation; Endoscopic sphincterotomy; Biliary and pancreatic stenting; Recorded operative demonstrations.

Dry-lab simulators and toolbox training; VCE stations; Hands-on ERCP model training.
